This has been a very heavy week for Ru Paul’s Drag Race. The episode everyone seemed to be waiting for, “Snatch Game,” brought with it so many mixed emotions. Some dislikes the character impersonations even I though Michael Jackson, Kimmy Jong Un and Uzo Aduba were on point. Some didn’t like the similar runway looks for the Night of 1000 Madonnas, unimpressed with far too many kimonos. Some, like me, are absolutely devastated that Acid Betty sashayed away at the end of the episode.
Yet all in all, I still enjoyed myself. I was still entertained. The moment Kim Chi walked out in that kimono, everyone who follows my work knew I would be drawing a piece depicting her. And how could I not? I also quite enjoyed Thorgy Thor and Naomi Small’s kimono look as well, I must say.
I originally planned this to be a painted piece but instead opted to give it a washed watercolor look instead, which made for an excelled white all-over-print on a t shirt. I quite enjoy the elegance and simplicity in this sketched look.
